Checklist for your new home


So many things are going on just before you move, and it is almost impossible to keep track of all of the little things by yourself.  Below are a few things to consider before, or soon after, moving into your new home:
  • One month before your move, USPS recommends you submit your change of address.  
  • At least 4 weeks before your move, arrange for movers.
  • School districts vary, be sure to check with the Texas Education Agency in order to register your child/children registered for school.
  • Two weeks prior to your move, arrange for the following to be connected on the day before you move in:
    • Water
    • Gas
    • Electric
    • Phone
    • Cable
  • Once you have moved, make sure you have changed your address with your personal alumni,  financial institutions, and cell phone carriers.
